“The Nightmare” employs jarring call and response-style vocals to construct a sonically disorientating sound, evoking a panic stricken bad dream or the anxiety felt when trapped in an unnerving social situation.
Although written and recorded pre-pandemic, the title could not be more apt to the world we currently find ourselves in.
"Like most of the tracks on the EP, The Nightmare came out of a jamming session at PRAH Studios in Margate. Both the violin and the bass sound particularly menacing so we decided to focus on nightmares and social anxiety: situations where you feel trapped and uncomfortable. The call and response style jarring vocals aim to create a sonically disorientating sound, like a panic stricken nightmare."
Across their second full-length, the London post-punks offer up thrumming motoriks, industrial tones, and sullen sing-a-longs in abundance. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 17, 2024
TV Priest's second record springs forth with a tension, dynamism, and crunch not often found in this brand of broody, shouty post-punk. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 16, 2022
